Our Mission

Coffee culture in the Philippines emerged in the beginning of the millennium, when foreign-branded coffee shops started dominating the urban landscape. City dwellers instantly embraced a new pastime of caffeine fixes, leisurely conversations, and long hang outs. It was trendy to be seen in big international chains to forgo their usual instant coffee at home.

Little did many know that in the Philippine highlands, coffee-growing has been grown by Indigenous folks for generations. In fact, our country used to be one of the world’s leading coffee exporters, but with lack of state funding and support, coffee production declined. It became common for coffee farmers to rely on private initiatives and foreign aid to spur the development of coffee farming, harvesting, and processing in backyard farms.

Our mission is to increase awareness and appreciation of Philippine specialty coffee, expand the market for sustainably-sourced coffee, and showcase the best of Philippine coffee farmers. It is the resiliency, indigeneity, and passion of coffee farmers that inspire us.  We are here to share the story of our Indigenous farmer partners and we hope that you join us in our journey of building better livelihoods for Philippine coffee growers and their communities.
